If something went right for Helmut Marko’s Angels in Budapest on Sunday, it was definitely Formula 3!
There was no stopping Dennis Hauger at the front and at the expense of his less experienced F3 team-mate, Leclerc, Arthur Leclerc. The ever consistent and seasoned Norwegian made light mayonnaise work of the moneGASque who, needless to say, wasn’t too pleased about it. C’est la vie is like dat, innit.
We moved quickly to ask both PREMA drivers whether they felt tempted to start a nuclear was on track and what would have been the team’s plan before the race. Started from the top now they’re there.
“You want to drive fair and have a good fight, not drive dirty – that’s not the way.”

Said Hauger: “I think as team-mates you want to keep it clean and fair obviously. We still both want to win and we fight it out on track but as team-mates and as a team we want to keep it as clean as possible for the Teams’ Championship as well. Anyway, you want to drive fair and have a good fight, not drive dirty – that’s not the way.”
And have you discussed the potential battle before the race?
Said Hauger, again: “No, not really. I think we both drive clean, we know what’s at stake and although we both want to win, we drive fair and battle fair, I think. There’s not much to say about it.”
“I want to win the race, I need to defend properly. He (Hauger) has been a bit stronger, like I said, and was able to keep on the outside and overtake me.”
Arthur Leclerc
Arthur, anything more from vous?
Spoken Leclerc has: “I mean, we were battling, we were both, I think, on the limit. We both want to win the race. So yeah, we keep it clean – that’s the principle. I don’t think I’ve been less aggressive with Dennis. In my head I was: I want to win the race, I need to defend properly. He has been a bit stronger, like I said, and was able to keep on the outside and overtake me. We kept it clean, that’s the important thing.”
