FIA F2: Pic of the Week

NEWS & STORIES

This week’s #F2 pic pick is Luca Ghiotto.

Luca is the quintessential Italian driver: the style, the accent, erratic racing career so far; Fisichella multiplied by perhaps de Cesaris with a hint of Farina. You can really say that Fangio’s “because of the crazy way Farina drove only the Holy Virgin was capable of keeping him on the track” remark can easily apply to LG just as many past or present passionate Italian racers.

Our own Sergio also had a chat with Luca last year, the Arzignano native being no stranger to all things Iberianmph.

Ghiotto showed his class in GP3, nearly taking the title while battling with none other than Ocon; early GP2/F2 adventure didn’t go that well (solid top 10 in the final standings though), but the kid learned his lessons and put them to good use in the first couple of races of the 2019 season, doing to the opposition precisely what Leclerc did to him in 2017 – winning the sprint race in style.

You could argue Ghiotto’s return to his alma mater, former RUSSIAN TIME (capital!), now (motorsport artists) known as UNI-Virtuosi Racing, has clearly paid off.

Keep on rocking, Luca.
