I am a motor racing enthusiast, have always been. It’s just that sometimes the mountain comes to Uncle Iberian, and sometimes Iberian must go to the mountain (or as Vitaly Petrov would say “must to go”).  With EXPOMOTO bike show in Batalha (central Portugal) the mountain came to Uncle Iberian – how cool is that?

The annual show brings all the latest and greatest from the world of motorbikes to the general public. You’ll be able to find stuff for different tastes; in my case I was after various racing bikes they had on display. These included Jorge Lorenzo’s championship-winning Yamaha from last year and this year’s Dakar bikes of Ruben Faria and Hélder Rodrigues.

I didn’t have much time to take proper photos unfortunately (with my boring job in the real world keeping me busy) – I simply swept through the entire exhibition (which had some pretty strong quality) in about an hour or so. Still, I managed to take a closer look at this wonderful machinery I saw in action during my visits to Rally TT Estoril – Portimão – Marrakech (part of the 2010 FIA World Cup for Cross Country Rallies) and MotoGP round in Estoril (can’t say enough nice things about Bridgestone Motorsport & Bridgestone Motorsport’s coffee machine).
