The Norwegian Reset: Formula 2 for Zoomers

NEWS & STORIES, PICS

From the outside looking in Formula 2 is a conundrum. Things get even more complicated when you take a gander at the amount of F2 (GP2) graduates racing overseas, in IndyCar, or diesel-powered Formula E, or even not racing at all! More like commentating? (Most notably Davide Valsecchi’s dad bod, my man, simply the best presenter on the entire planet, I’d rather listen to him than Alex Jacques.) Nothing wrong with that. There’s lots of fast drivers, overexcited sportscasters and not enough drives available in the “the home of risk takers” because eleven teams – it won’t fly. We’ll get to that in a second.

Now I’m told that kids these days love bands like Megadeth. Dave Mustaine, the dude is outstanding, only 16 years of age and he’s been in the music business for almost five decades. Me, I’m a life-long Swiftie, I bet you didn’t know that. I literally fall asleep while listening to TS’s biggest hits, like “My iPhone is just isn’t charging” or “2 Wok (4TikTok)”, this is music. By the way, we recently launched our TikTok page or channel, or whatever you wanna call it. Go check it out. It’s totally worth is: https://www.tiktok.com/@p2pc2e

Zoomers, this one is for you. I’ve decided to describe top 10 Formula 2 drivers by using Megadeth’s – and by default your – fave lyrics. Hold on to your fur. This is going to be BIG.

We merely copied and pasted lyrics for non-commercial, educational use. Megadeth’s lawyers are the rightful owners of that jazz.

Bortoleto: “I am a sniper, Always hit the mark, Paid assassin, Working after dark, Looking through the night, Using infra-red, My target on you, Aimed at your head, $10, 000 up front.”

Hadjar (this is where Red Bull comes in with all the support): “The dogs begin to bark, All over my neighborhood and that ain’t all, Dogs begin to bark, All over my neighborhood (mm, mm), This is a mean old world to live in, And I can’t face it all by myself.”

Maloney: “Full throttle, Gonna rip some ass. Drive all day and through the night, Romance the road, Winding left to right. The stars above guide me, The moonlight is free. A feeling inside me and the whole world to see. Driving fast makes me feel good, The speed of light trapped under my hood.”

Aron (I think it must be about his team’s motorhome): “Welcome to our fortress tall, I’ll take some time to show you around, Impossible to break these walls, For, you see, the steel is much too strong, Computer banks to rule the world, Instruments to sight the stars.”

Crawford (a Daniil Kvyat fan, for sure): “Fire in my veins, Faster as I go, I forgot my name, I’m a dirt torpedo, High speed dirt, High speed dirt, High speed dirt, High speed dirt.”

Antonelli: “Somewhere there’s a reason why things go like they do, Somewhere there’s a reason why some things just fall through, We don’t always see them for what they really are, But I know there’s a reason, just can’t see it from this far.”

Colapinto (Mustaine is awesome, he knew all about viral videos back in 1997): “Hail to the power age, Lest the viral hour comes, Raise the flag of voltage, Bow to circuitry unknown, Kneel before the processor, Lords of static laugh, Electrons in submission, You must know who I am.”

Martins: “As I ride into the sunset to take another town, Thank you for the invite, But I just can’t settle down, The dust that coats my hat is from a dozen towns, Dust from shooting down another dozen clowns, I’m an outcast riding into town alone, I got wanderlust branded deeper than the bone, I’m an outcast riding into town alone, I got a lust for wandering branded deeper than the bone.”

Hauger: “Moto Psycho (going nowhere), Everybody is a, Moto Psycho move it or lose it baby, Moto Psycho (going nowhere), 100 Miles an hour, Moto Psycho I’m a Moto Psycho, Moto Psycho.”

Verschoor: “On the high road (like a super collider), I will take you higher (like a super collider), ‘Til the world explodes (like a super collider), Super collider.”
